Site Policies and Rules

Roshanri was built by a group of individuals who wanted a place to write and have fun together in an environment that was both friendly and unique. What we have created with each other we now wish to share with everyone, and as we open our gates to the player base at large we will push to ensure a safe environment for everyone to enjoy themselves. To that end here are the rules and policies everyone on Roshanri must follow in order to maintain the atmosphere our site wishes to create. Violations of the rules can, and will, result in corrective actions being taken against the offending party, such as, but not limited to, restricting access to certain functions of the site, temporary banning, and in necessary cases permanent bans from the entire site for life.

Corrective actions are not done in spite or to harm, but instead are done to protect this world we worked to create and all of the people within it. Please help us to achieve this goal by carefully reviewing the rules below, and applying them to your time spent on Roshanri. We look forward to writing with you, and as always Happy Writing.

General Site Rules

1. Be respectful to players and staff both in character (IC) and out of character (OOC).
2. Read the lore, and roleplay within the world, theme and setting provided
3. Do not allow in character disputes to become out of character problems
4. Respect the wishes of your fellow players when it comes to what they are and are not comfortable threading about
5. Post only in the english language
6. Powerplaying, godmodding and metagaming are all considered disrespectful and a violation of the rules of the site
7. Most importantly, remember to have fun!

Account Rules

1. Your account name should be the name of your character
2. Account names should be original and not names taken from other real life examples of famous people or works of fiction
   • Examples: Harry Potter, Donald Trump, Raistlin, Drizzt, Frodo, Jace, Venser, Chandra et cetera.
3. All characters should be original to the player, and not taken from movies, fiction or real life people
4. One account per character
5. No swapping or trading accounts, and no sharing accounts between players
6. Players are allowed a maximum of 3 character accounts at one time

A character account is a personal thing, and so should be treated with respect by the player. Keep your account and password to yourself, and if there is an issue with IP addresses coinciding be up front and inform the staff of the potential issue before investigations into shared accounts occur.

Chat Rules

1. All other rules found on the site must be followed in chat as well
2. Remain polite and respectful in your encounters with people on chat
3. Refrain from excessive swearing. While we do not mind the odd word or two, do not make swear words the entirety of your vocabulary
4. Follow the directions of staff and chat moderators, as those in positions of authority are put there to regulate the chat for the enjoyment of others
5. Staff and moderators reserve the right to regulate and correct disruptive behavior in the chat via writen warning, temporary chat bands, and at times permanent chat bans

The chat of Roshanri is intended to be a resource for players to come together as a community to plan, ask questions and in general enjoy one another's company. Those who are disruptive, hurtful, or in any way affect the chat experience for others will be warned by chat moderators to correct their behavior. Further violations will receive corrective actions.

Copyright and Plagiarism

1. All works on Roshanri should be original works by the writers and creators of the site
2. Do not copy or plagiarize the works of others to pass them off as your own
3. If you use art or an image in your posts or threads ask for permission from the original creator for its use if it is possible
4. It is the responsibility of the player, not the staff or moderators of Roshanri, to ensure the player is not using any copyrighted material.

Roshanri is a collaborative writing site, and as such we take the potential for plagiarism very seriously. Everyone here should be writing together with one another to create something new and exciting, and to pass off someone’s work as your own is both disrespectful to the original creator as well as to the rest of the playerbase.

If you are caught plagiarizing or copying another person's work you will first receive a temporary ban of no less than one week. If you are found plagiarizing a second time you will be removed from the site permanently. Please respect the works of others, and respect yourself enough to not copy someone else’s hard work.

Inappropriate Material

1. Roshanri does not allow the use of pornographic material, literature or images, on its site
2. Images on the site must not contain depictions of real life instances of crime, violence, or any other instance of lawbreaking which would violate local, state, federal or international law
3. Political and religious views should be kept from public forums, threads and chats on Roshanri

Depictions of full nudity, violent acts, and unlawful behavior for the sake of their content alone will be removed from the site and the poster reprimanded and submitted for corrective actions. Bear in mind that while we are a site that caters to an older and more mature audience, we cannot verify that all who view our site are of appropriate age. Please ensure your content is suitable for all ages as often as possible. Once more, show respect to your fellow players and use good judgement when posting on Roshanri.

Mature Themes

Roshanri is considered a mature site, and as such certain topics such as sexual acts, cursing and acts of violence or trauma are allowed within the context of the game and to progress a story. That said, players are responsible for ensuring their thread partners are comfortable with the material being played out. Roshanri holds no responsibility over what a player reads or takes part in on the site, and it is expected that if you do participate in mature themed threads you are both of age and consenting. Players should ensure that both of these things are correct and ok with their partner before going forward with mature themes.

Player Expectations

1. Players of Roshanri are expected to be mature and respectful to one another as previously stated above. This extends into all avenues of the site, from IC to OOC.
2. It is the player’s responsibility to ensure they are following all site rules, and that they read all required lore before starting to play.
3. Players are responsible for ensuring all posts and threads they post follow local, state, federal and international law
4. Roshanri takes no responsibility for what players read or post while on the site. Those who post material which violates the terms of agreement and the site rules will face consequences appropriate to their actions.
5. Acts of bullying, harassment or abuse will not be tolerated. As per previous rules, all players are to ensure they are respectful to the staff and players of Roshanri to ensure everyone is able to play in a safe environment.

Players on Roshanri are given a great amount of freedom within a structured setting, and it is the responsibility of all players to ensure that these freedoms are not taken advantage of by those who would do harm to others. If there is ever a problem, or if you feel uncomfortable in a situation, please contact one of the staff or the founders directly for help and assistance. You may also contact staff through the Support Desk located on the main server.

Corrective Actions

1. First offenses will receive verbal warnings depending on the severity of the issue
2. Second offenses will receive restrictions such as bans from chats, contests and events around the site
3. Third offenses will lead to temporary bans from the site, and no less than 1 week up to 1 month
4. Fourth offenses are cause for immediate removal from Roshanri

The above corrective actions are a general set of actions the staff and founders may take in order to preserve the site and its players. The staff reserve the right to make judgement calls on what level of corrective action is appropriate to the actions of the player, and may skip one or more steps above as need be. Players who are mentally or emotionally abusive to others on the site will earn immediate bans from the site, and warnings may or may not come before corrective actions depending on the situation.
