There are many languages on Anri. In some areas certain languages may be more prevalent than others, but there is no single dominant language throughout the land. Below is a list of the various languages throughout Roshanri.

Fluency Levels

Basic

All new langues begin at the Basic level. AT this level a character understands a handful of words and a few phrases, but cannot hold conversations beyond a sentence. Often at this level a few words here and there can be picked out and understood, but in general talking to someone in this language is an act of futility as you do not understand enough to make any sense of what is being said.

Conversational

Enough has been learned that you can hold simple conversations. Often sayings and phrases are used oddly, but overall the PC can understand what is being said and the other person can make out what PC is trying to say as well. Complex words are still beyond the character's grasp, and their accents show through clearly in conversation.

Fluent

The PC has a full grasp of the languages and speaks it easily. Switching between their normal language and their fluent language is now simple as switching coats, and long and deep conversations can be held without much issue. If the language is not one the PC grew up speaking it is still possible to confuse words and phrasings even at Fluent, and the accent can still be quite strong if the language has only been used for a short time.
